Sibling LDN is an all-inclusive cooperatively-run London-based skate collective formed in the summer of 2018. Our aim is to make space in the skate world for marginalised communities and bring together skaters of all levels, backgrounds, race, genders and sexualities.
We run meetups, host beginner sessions, facilitate workshops, and organise skate trips. We've travelled to meet in skateparks all around London, from Walthamstow to Crystal Palace and Better Extreme to BaySixty6, we've also ventured out to skate together in the Welsh countryside, Amsterdam, Barcelona, Hong Kong and more. Our workshops have included beginners basics sessions, skateboard anatomy, skateboard painting, and skateboard bag strap design+sew. Over the past two years, we've grown to over a hundred members across several platforms.
At the end of our first summer together, I pulled together photos from the collective to create a zine. This was all about documenting our time together, raising funds for future projects, and introducing Sibling to the world. It has been sent to people all across the globe and raised money to organise several free beginner skate sessions in 2019 which have seen turnouts of 50+ skaters.
